First off, since I didn't want to run for the usual president or vice
president position, I didn't have that many options left. The reason
I didn’t want to pursue one of those two positions was because they
are too popular, and involved more experience and expertise in multiple
fields in my mind. Plus I wanted my campaign to be a bit more on the
lighter side as opposed to serious. So the secretary position seemed
like the way to go. For this particular part of the campaign I needed
to design a serious of 10 photographs to promote me as secretary. The
only major requirement of a secretary is to take the minutes of meetings,
so I went for the idea of being versatile in the note taking process.
I wanted to go about it in a humorous fashion, showing that I could take
minutes just about anywhere, including such places as a shower and
bathroom stall. The pictures needed to have some sort of pattern (me
holding clipboard in various environments) and a rhythm (established
with the use of sub headings). The last picture was sort of an accident
in that my face kept on turning out to be green when taken that close
no matter how many times I took it. So I worked the result into the
campaign to give a sense of urgency. I liked the reference to vote for
me in third person as well, because it sounded like a campaign made by
supporters of me, as opposed to me just begging people to vote for me.
I wanted the impact of the series of picture to leave the viewer thinking
I’m an easy going person who is willing to perform my job anywhere it
takes me.
