ran tao is an technologist, designer and engineer who loves games, social networking, and having fun. she is interested primarily in the field of human-computer interactions as well as projects and research involving social software, ubiquitous computing, mobile, gaming and interaction design/development for new technology. her work focuses mainly on enhancing social interaction and taking notice of the ever-changing environment, both physical and virtual, that shapes everyday life. in the past, ran's work has gotten both print and digital coverage including PC Gamer Magazine, wired.com, engadget.com, gothamist.com, nationalgeographic.com, and CBS News online. her projects have also been accepted to such conferences as Ars Electronica Festival, Conflux Festival and Come Out and Play Festival. ran holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT and a master's degree from NYU's interactive telecommunications program (ITP). she has worked previously at Microsoft Research, Verizon FiOS TV, Intel, MIT Media Lab, and Seagate. ran is always looking for future projects and opportunities. ran loves meeting new and interesting people almost as much as she loves dogs, which says a lot... |
